Filmmaker Srijit Mukherjee is planning to make his Bengali film, Rajkahini, which released in October this year, in Hindi.
Earlier, Srijit filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has expressed interest in mentoring the new project.
The film has been tentatively titled “Lakeer” and will go on floors next year with actors from all over the country.
“I am planning to remake ‘Rajkahini’. Mahesh Bhatt has taken a lot of interest in ‘Rajkahini’ and expressed interest in mentoring the project,” Srijit said.
If the buzz is to be believed, the makers are keen on Vidya Balan to essay the main role.
Rajkahini was based in West Bengal and Bangladesh, but for the Hindi verison it will be an Indo-Pak setting.
